Dili, June 28, 2024– The Timor-Leste Sports Confederation (CDTL), in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Sports Art and Culture (MoYSAC), held the 2024 National Symposium on Anti-Doping on Friday, June 28. The symposium was attended by athletes, coaches, NF leaders, government representatives, the National Police, the National University of Timor-Leste (UNTL), and clinicians, all gathered to share information about anti-doping and advocate for the establishment of an authority to regulate anti-doping efforts in the future.

The symposium featured a series of insightful presentations from distinguished panelists:
• Dr. Eka Wulan Sari from Indonesia Anti-Doping Organization (IADO) discussed “Anti-Doping Regulations and Governance, Case Disclosure, and Education.”
• Dr. Nilton do Carmo da Silva provided insights on “Doping and Sports Medicine.”
• Dr. Gustodio Alves de Jesus addressed the topic “Cardiac Arrest During the Game: What are the Causes?”
• Mr. Cesarino da Silva, Executive Secretary of the NSC, spoke about the “Draft Decree Law on the Establishment of Timor-Leste NADO.”





The theme of the National Symposium on Anti-Doping 2024 was to promote and guarantee clean sport for good performance. The symposium emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity in sports and highlighted the need for a dedicated authority to oversee anti-doping regulations in Timor-Leste.
Participants expressed their support for the initiative, recognizing the critical role of anti-doping measures in ensuring fair competition and protecting athletes’ health. The event marked a significant step towards enhancing the anti-doping framework in Timor-Leste and reinforcing the country’s commitment to clean and ethical sports.
